Let me give you an example (watch the video for full details and results), let's say you are a dentist and you want to bring in more patients. So first things first, what is your amazing offer going to be? It can't be some $25 dollar discount or 10% off type thing. That is what people are blinded to on a regular basis. Since we are talking Facebook - you are competing with so much noise that you only have 3 seconds to catch their attention. 1-2-3! That was quick right? Alright, so what is a service a dentist offers that has already established value, so if they saw it free it would be "amazing"? A free dental exam is an example I'll give you. I give another in the video but don't want to reveal it here in plain text. A free dental exam by a dentist converts great. When done correctly. First, you can't just throw it up there on a post and say hey everyone - free dental exams and X-rays for everyone! For one, you'd quickly go broke. For another, it doesn't have that "special for me" type of feel. For another, there would be a LOT of freebie seekers in that group of people - the ones who only look for free, cheap or discounted stuff and will never return. That's what you often get when running Groupon offers. Their mailing list, while huge, is also full of people never intending to fork out any more money than they have to. There are some that will of course not be like that, and you'll be happy to have them as customers, but it's awfully expensive getting those people at the end of the day.
Back to our dentist. Okay, we have our "amazing offer". Free Dental Exam. I know I know, not very exciting. But wait - there's more. Now we match it up with an audience. Facebook has amazing targeting options in the United States. Less so in other countries, but some is better than none. For this offer lets target Females - 25 - 45 to start, Married with children under the age of 10. Know why? We're going to offer the free dental exam for the kids! Know what happens when you make a kid not cry during a dental visit? You make a mom happy. Know what's most likely to happen when you make a mom happy? That mom will bring her other kids, herself, and her husband. Somethings missing. Ah, that's right. Reason. So in our ad, just in case the free exam is not enough - we may include a free cleaning as well, depends on your market. Also, in the ad itself, we will also quote statistics that state that kids need to have their teeth examined earlier rather than later so that you can catch any problems early! Before they cost a fortune more than they should. Right there you have presold them on spending money. When those kids come in for their free exam, and you do the exam and find issues, what are the odds they are going elsewhere for those issues to be fixed? Unlikely.
There you have it. An ad concept and target that can be run tomorrow and have phone calls coming in within 24 hours booking appointments. The overall concept above ticks all the checkboxes and can be used not just for dentists - but a lot more niches, chiropractors, roofers, plumbers, plastic surgeons, hair salons, restaurants.
